In July 2026, 464 BlackTwist creator accounts with tracked analytics published 139,350 posts, generating more than 354million views — about 2.7x June's total. Long form threads dominated reach with 12,899 average views per post, nearly 18x a short post, but short posts held the highest engagement rate at 7.84%. The clearest growth signal was still conversation: median growth climbed at every rung of the reply ladder, from 2.90% for creators with fewer than 10 replies to 19.00% for those clearing 500. Volume mattered too — the 124 creators posting 10+ times a week led on both average (43.80%) and median (7.77%) growth. Sunday delivered the best reach (8,811 avg views), while Monday drove the best engagement rate at 5.04%.

What the fastest growers have in common

July's top growers were thread-first and relentless. @julietemirella posted the largest absolute gain this report has recorded, adding 106,471 followers (93,196 → 199,667), while @rosettewilson_ turned 3,750 followers into 53,503 — a 1,326.75% jump that topped the growth-rate board. Among the top growers publishing through BlackTwist, the cadence was extreme: @climbtowealth (+18,775) shipped 1,210 posts averaging 36,276 views, 97% of them multi-post threads, and @pooravbolar (+10,004) published 1,244, with 1,085 threads. The playbook has not changed — a repeatable thread hook, published many times a day.

Posting Frequency vs Growth

Does posting more often lead to faster follower growth?

10+/week (2+/day)12443.8%7.8%

The frequency advantage

Creators posting 10+ times per week (the largest active group at 124 creators) led July on both average growth (43.80%) and median growth (7.77%). The middle of the range was flat by comparison: the 3-4/week and 5-6/week buckets averaged just 2.45% and 2.73%, and even daily posters (7-10/week) landed at 6.99%. As always, averages are outlier-sensitive — the 10+/week bucket's 43.80% is inflated by a handful of breakout accounts — but its median still leads every other bucket, so the direction is real.

Engagement drives growth

July's reply ladder is the cleanest signal in the report: median growth rose at every rung, from 2.90% for creators with fewer than 10 total replies to 19.00% for those clearing 500 — and that top group averaged 135.21%, skewed by a handful of breakout accounts. Likes narrowly reclaimed the strongest correlation with views (0.521 vs 0.511 for reposts), while replies barely correlated at all (0.109) — replies signal depth, not distribution. Posts under 1% engagement rate still pulled the highest average views (10,368): the same pattern as prior months — viral reach accumulates far faster than engagement keeps up.

Content insights

The weekend ruled July for reach: Sunday posts led with 8,811 average views and Saturday followed at 7,183 — while Monday topped engagement at 5.04%. The 100-199 character range delivered the best average reach (6,403 views per post), with the 200-500 range essentially tied at 6,380, but the shorter 50-99 character band won engagement outright at 6.95%. The media split held from June: text-only posts out-reached posts with media 2.5-to-1 on average views (6,259 vs 2,501), though media posts still engaged better (7.05% vs 4.74% ER) — media builds connection, but plain text travels further.

Methodology

How we collected and analyzed the data

Sample

472 Threads accounts with at least one published post between July 1-31, 2026, and 2,361 accounts with follower snapshots tracked across the month. All accounts are users of BlackTwist, a Threads analytics and management tool. This is not a random sample of all Threads creators — results reflect the behavior and performance of BlackTwist users specifically.

Definitions

  • Engagement Rate: (likes + replies + reposts + quotes) / views
  • Short Post: Single post under 250 characters
  • Long Post: Single post of 250+ characters
  • Long Form Thread: Multiple connected posts
  • Nano: Under 1,000 followers
  • Micro: 1,000 - 10,000 followers
  • Mid: 10,000 - 50,000 followers
  • Large: 50,000+ followers

Minimum Thresholds

Growth rate rankings require a minimum of 100 followers at the start of the month. Engagement rate post rankings require a minimum of 1,000 views. Post leaderboards are capped at two entries per author and exclude duplicate reposts of identical text, so a single high-volume account cannot fill a whole list.

Language Scope

All post-level analysis — top posts, format breakdown, content length, day of week, and media comparison — covers English-language posts only (39,203 of the 42,791 root posts published in July, or 91.6%). Language is detected heuristically from post content. Follower growth rankings are language-agnostic and are not filtered, so the leaderboards include creators who publish in other languages.

Caveats

This data represents BlackTwist users only and may not reflect broader Threads trends. View counts and engagement metrics are cumulative snapshots and may include engagement from after July 31. Correlation values are Pearson coefficients and do not imply causation.
